Just recovered from the super long but super awesome Thailand trip at Sichang Island and Bangkok. I had to keep sleeping for 2 days... wow... what a trip... hahas..
Its was exciting from the start cos i've never travelled by plane before (noob right?). So we gathered at Changi Airport, waved goodbyes to our family and went on to the departure hall.. The first thing we looked for was the DFS selling cigarettes and liquor.. of course we went to buy the cigarettes... We only bought 2 cartons... didn't expect to finish within 3 days.. =.="
We then went to board the plane.. When we took off, i swear my heart was at my throat.. It was a 2 hour travel to Thailand's airport..
Once we reach there, we quickly got out in hope to immediately see our Thai counterpart.. didn't know we have to go through so much procedures.. =.=
I was so shocked to see them cos they are not that different from us! well, except for the language... but everything else is so similar..! They joined us and then we took a bus to go to the port to get on a ferry to Sichang Island... Got to know my first Thai friend's name is Beer... Yep... Beer.... Cool or what... I nearly told her my name's Vodka.. LOL! Ok lame... It was THE LONGEST freaking bus ride I ever took! 2 friggin hours just to get to the port... And another 45 mins journey on water till we reach... Damn.. Plus the super hot weather... I felt sweat down my spine... seriously...
When we got there, we were sorted into groups of 6 ( 3 SG, 3 Thai) into a room.. Then we had some food to eat and it was the Ice breaking games... Totally din't expect that the very polite very quiet Thai students can be so rough when playing games.. I was literally crushed under a few of them while playing some mouse game (and we're the mouse! =.=). And that kinda ended the first day.
As the days go by, we got to know the Thai students better and we had to do a small perfomance on day 3... which went by really quick... as we were rushing for our performance to be prepared.
On the 2nd day we were introduced to the different Thai musical instruments from the different parts of Thailand.. That's when i realised that Thai music have certain similarities from the other asian countries.. like Java.. China.. India... all very interesting!! hahas!
Day 3 came kinda quick.. We got up and quickly had our last rehearsal before the performance.. After the performance comes the last meal we'll ever have together on Sichang Island.. After that was packing up of our stuffs and then our last meeting at the hall... THEN came the crying part.. The Thai students sang a song for us which really touched us and some of us ended up shedding some tears... (mine didn't... just some swelling at the eyes... heh)
We then exchanged contacts with each other and promised to keep in contact even after the trip.. We then grabbed our bags and went to the dock where our boat is waiting for us to go back to mainland.. We then split up with the Thai students as they have their separate activities... We got onto our bus and got on our way to the hotel we're supposed to be sleeping at for the next 2 days.. It was kinda cool.. except the part that there was a brothel right next to it.. pfft! Good cover though.. It wrote "Coffee Shop" at the entrance... LOL!
The next 2 days were spent doing some visits here and there and some Thai instruments workshop.. On the last night we went to MBK shopping centre.. It was like the amazing race where everyone was rushing to get whatever they could with under 2 hours to shop.. We then got back to our hotel and washed up before celebrating mark's birthday.. Got nearly everyone effed up... which was good though.. lesser people that irritates me... I think one lesson i learnt from this is that we should never invite the girls for a drink unless we're prepared to get a lil deaf from all the shouting and srceaming... damn...
The last day we got packed and got on the bus for another long journey to the Airport... Some Thai students came by to say goodbye... Some tears were dropped.. Loads of hugs went on.. Pictures... ughh.. dun know how many were taken.. pfft!!
Reached Singapore at around 7++ pm... Greeted by my friends and my mum and best mate and BEST OF ALL - MY DEARIE!!!! xD
Went to eat togeher and bid farewell to everyone before going back..
This is definitely gonna be a trip that I won't ever forget..
Till Then... Sawaddeekap ~
